Using the Help Center

Welcome to the Total ETO Help Center. Whether you need to learn how to use the features, tips and tricks, best practices, or troubleshoot issues, we've got you covered. But first, you need to create an account and sign in. Don't worry, it's quick and easy. If you are not logged in, you can still browse some general information on how to use the Help Center.

Create an Account

Before you can access the help materials, you need to create an account with your company email address. This is different from your Total ETO login, so don't use the same password. Follow these steps to create your account:

  1. Navigate to https://help.totaleto.com/
  2. Click Sign In at the left-hand side of the page.
  3. On the sign in screen, click the link called New to Total ETO Help? Sign Up. It’s located below the Sign In button.
  4. Enter your full name and company email address, then select the Sign Up button.Create_Help_Center_Account.gif

You're almost done! To complete your registration, go to your email inbox and look for the verification link we sent you. Click on the link and create a password for your account. After that, you can sign in and view all our help materials. If you don't see the email in your inbox, make sure to check your spam folder too.

Once you have created your account, you can sign in anytime to view the help materials.

  1. Select the Sign In button at the top of the page.
  2. Enter your company email address and password, then select the Sign In button.

You're in! Now you can search and browse through our articles, guides, and videos.

Troubleshooting

Browsers with ad blockers and privacy extensions may cause a conflict when creating an account, resulting in an error screen. To resolve this:

  1. Add an exception for totaleto.zendesk.com to your ad blockers and privacy extensions. Refer to your ad blocker's support page for instructions.
  2. Enable third-party cookies from totaleto.zendesk.com on your browser. Refer to your browser's support page for instructions.

Navigating the Help Center

There are multiple ways to navigate the Help Center and find the answers you're looking for.

New Content

Check out the New Content section on the home page to see the latest materials we've added to the help center. This is also where you can learn about new features.

Browse

You can browse the Help Center by categories, which are the main topics we cover. Just click on a category box on the home page or use the dropdown menu at the top of any page to see a list of sections and guides related to that category.

Side Navigation

When you open a guide page, you can see the side navigation on the left. This is an interactive site map that shows you all the guides in the Help Center ordered by categories and sections. You can click on any of them to go to that page.

Contents/On This Page

Our guides have a table of contents. This is a handy way to jump to specific parts of the guide that interest you. Just click an item in the contents and you will be taken there.

Hover Text

Sometimes you will see a word in italics with a hand icon in front of it. This means that you can hover your mouse over it to get more details. This is used to offer more explanation of a term or to identify the default term that clients often change in the system, such as  machine.

Breadcrumbs

If you want to go back to a previous category or section, you can use the breadcrumbs at the top of the page. These are links that show you where you are in the Help Center. Just click on any of them to go back to that page.

Search the Help Center

When you search the help center, results are returned from the content of guides and posted comments. Search returns ranked on relevance such as exact matches, the frequency of the search terms in a guide, and the number of helpful votes. The search field is available on all pages of the Help Center.

Get an Instant Answer

When you type a question into the Help Center search bar and click enter, our AI Answer Engine will attempt to provide an instant answer based on existing guides and articles. This feature helps you:

  • Get quick answers without browsing multiple guides.
  • See suggested content that matches your question.
  • Continue to full search if the AI response doesn’t fully resolve your issue.

If the AI answered your question, give it a thumbs up to help improve future responses.
If the AI cannot find a suitable answer, you can still view the full search results or try a different question.

Note: For best results, use clear action words like "define", "explain", or "describe" when asking questions.

Instant Search

Instant search is used when you first start typing in the search field. As you type, guide titles that match your search appear. Keep typing to reduce the list of guides. You can select any result to go directly to the guide without going to the search results page. If you don't see any results that fit your criteria, press Enter to turn the search into a full search.

  • Uses a partial word search
  • Includes titles only, no body text or labels

Full Search

Use full search to find specific results. Full search is used when you type into the search field and then select Enter. Search results appear as a list on the search results page.

  • Uses full word search, not a partial word search
  • Includes titles, body text, and labels

Exact Match

Use double quotes (") to find exact matches. You can use this on multiple words to find content that contains all of those words. Make sure you put spaces between the search terms. For example, "part" "machine" "find" retrieves content that contains all three words, in any order.
